The Oaklands School Community,
Mr. Adams’ Kindergarten is leading a project to purchase more iPads. We are very excited about the ones we have and about using some of the excellent applications we have found to support learning.
The other Kindergarten classes have started to use them and last week some of the Grade 4’s visited to try them out! We hope to purchase a class set of iPads that can be shared throughout the school. We already have a special cart for storing, charging, and programming them.
“Small in Body – Big in Brain” is the project Mr. Adams has developed for the Kindergarten. The project’s aim to use iPads and a Smartboard to help students record and evaluate their progress. Our immediate fundraising goal is to purchase one more iPad to help with the project.
The project was recently accepted by Pick My Class which is a web-based educational fundraising site. The site’s sponsors work to connect potential donors to worthwhile classroom projects. Pick My Class provides publicity for the project and processes contributions made to it. More details are available on its website: http://pickmyclass.org
Please take a few minutes to visit Pick My Class and to access our project. We hope that you will consider making a contribution. We also hope that you will pass on this information to everyone you know who may be interested in supporting our project.
