Welcome to Oaklands Elementary School!
We acknowledge the Songhees & Esquimalt Nations, on whose traditional territory we do our work.
Oaklands is home to 450 students in 21 divisions. We offer a wide range of programs that nurture creativity, curiosity, and growth. Our Fine Arts program includes a Senior Choir and a full music curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade 5, along with collaborative projects like murals and mosaics.
We are committed to early literacy through initiatives such as Home Reading, literacy support, and special reading events.
Before and after school care is available on and off-site through the Oaklands Community Association, providing safe and engaging experiences for students.
Students can explore many sports throughout the year, including cross-country, soccer, basketball, tennis, cricket, golf, and track, building skills, confidence, and teamwork.
Our ACORNS framework, Accountability, Cooperation, Organization, Respect, Nurturing, and Safety, guides positive behaviour and helps students grow to be strong ACORNS, developing the skills, values, and confidence to thrive.
Oaklands also fosters environmental awareness through hands-on learning that connects students to nature and the community.
We are proud to have a strong and active PAC that supports families, hosts school activities, and works closely with staff to enhance students’ learning experiences.
We look forward to a year full of learning, growth, and memorable experiences. Families are encouraged to be involved, because when we work together, everyone benefits.
